We grow specimen trees for clients who want a landscape that is both beautiful and philosophically meaningful — the kind of garden that asks a little more attention than it gives, and rewards it.
Our intent is simple: to draw attention to a kind of beauty that is so often overlooked — the bent trunk, the weathered bark, the branch that took thirty years to find its angle. The kind of beauty you have to slow down to see.
We are not landscape architects. We are cultivators — growers and guides who can help you choose the right tree, place it well, and continue its care over the long arc of years.
Most landscapes are designed to be looked at. We are interested in landscapes that are designed to be lived with — that change with the seasons, deepen with the years, and offer something a little different on every walk.
Whether you are starting a single bonsai or rethinking a whole property, we work with you slowly, one tree and one decision at a time.
A focused palette, chosen for what thrives in our climate and what carries the right character — the trees we have grown to know well, and that we trust to do their part in a contemplative landscape.
Most relationships begin with a visit. You walk the nursery, look at trees in different stages of development, and we talk about your property and what is drawing you to this kind of work.
From there, we might select a single specimen for you, or we might consult on a larger composition — a quiet corner, an entry sequence, a long-view planting that needs to settle in for a decade before it does what you want it to do. Some clients buy one tree and never need us again. Others build a small collection over years.
What we do not do is hand over a finished landscape and walk away. The trees keep growing, and the work continues.
The nursery is open by appointment. Tell us a little about what you are hoping to grow and we will find a time.
